From a Life in Captivity to a Captivating Life…

For six years I wrote a memoir about my childhood called Life In Captivity. As a child I had to overcome unimaginable challenges including a rare case of Vitamin A toxicity that left me physically handicapped and resulted in over 20 surgeries before I turned 18. I also faced emotional and mental trials when my parents battled for custody. Yet despite all I endured, I maintained a positive mindset, one which I still rely upon today.

I was so moved by Eliza’s story. She has overcome so much adversity in her life and yet always has such a positive outlook and genuine empathy for others. She is such an inspiration to all who hear her.

In the summer of 2026, I am relocating to Spain with my 19 year old daughter. It is going to be a monumental adventure that will fulfill a long-held dream of having a captivating life.
